Post-Exercise Recovery Meals
We have all heard over and over to eat a proper post workout meal, but some may not know the reason why, and or what to eat exactly.
After an intense workout, the body is at a peak metabolic state to absorb amino acids and other nutrients to the muscle tissue. The hormone insulin then reaches maxim sensitivity, which enhances the body's capacity to replenish energy reserves and effectively utilize carbs without gaining fat. Providing the body with fast assimilating proteins and slow releasing carbs after exercise. The goals of a recovery meal are to finalize the anabolic effect of the workout, replenish nutrients to depleted muscles and boost immunity. These meals should be constituted of fast assimilating proteins, good fat and sow releasing carbs serving 25g-30g proteins and 10g-25g of carbs. ~Ori Hofmekier
