12 Week Transformation Winner Announcement

In the spirit of giving back, about a week or so before the Olympia, I decided to give away a 3 month program to someone who I felt could use it most.  There were quite a few entries, and it was extremely difficult to choose just one.  I found that I saw parts of myself in everyone.  I discovered that all of the people that entered, though in different phases of life, all somehow had a connection to the each other.  I know that we all have a story, but when you think about "the story", it is predominately your own you think about the most.  I think it is difficult  to see the world through the eyes of another person.  Think about it.  When was the last time you stopped, made a conscious decision to put yourself in the shoes of another person?  That is not an easy task and it takes quite a bit of effort to stop thinking about your own past and future, jump into the moment of right now, and switch your entire focus to how someone else may be feeling in any given situation.  You must think of the specifics of their life, current situation and how they must be feeling at this very moment.  All the while contemplating their story, their pain or what obstacles they are currently walking through.

By reading these entries, I was immediately pulled out of my own world and thrust into the intimate details of other people.  It is fair to say that we are all going through something, right here and now.  I think what I learned the most is that I want to be of service to others.  It immediately takes me out of my world and puts me in a position that I am quite passionate about.  Helping others by simply sharing my own experience so that I can somehow make a difference in the world.  Even if it's one person at a time.   This is new for me, and if you have watched any of my current videos, I think you may get the idea of the direction I want my life to take.  In case you missed them here are the links:

The first night in Las Vegas at Meet The Olympians Interview with Angelica Nebbia for Muscle & Fitness Hers

And a video done 6 days before he Olympia for my Better Bodies Blog with Angela Ruberto.

It made me really think, especially after my trip to Las Vegas, just how easy it is so easy to judge others by the their outsides.  And comparing that assumption of who you think they are or what their life must be like against your own.  And placing that separateness between you and another person.  When in truth, we are all doing the best we can at any given moment.   I believe we all want the same thing,  to be happy.  I do know that most of the time the things you dislike the most about someone else, are usually some aspect of yourself that you do not like.  To get past that level of awareness I have found that having compassion for another person is what bridges that gap for me personally.  After reading the intimate details of the entries, it has never been so clear, I must fight to stay on this path.  It feels right, and it makes me happy.

I want to move forward, and live in today.  So let's talk about today.

Today I have chosen a winner.  The winner is Lisa T.  I am not going to add a last name because I am not sure if that is necessary or if she necessarily wants to be mentioned publicly.  I will email her after this is blog is posted.

What I really want to conclude with is that please, if you were not chosen, it had nothing to do with you.  I honestly felt a desire to reach out to everyone.  Please do not for one moment think you are not good enough or that your story wasn't "enough".  They all were enough and if I had the time I would do something for each of you.  Also, I can assure you this is not the last time I will do something similar to this give away.

I hope you are having a great day.  :)

Ava, this blog entry is so potent with many gems of wisdom, and I do hope people take the time to read. I appreciated reading it. While I've never met you, I'm convinced that you're a very genuine and honest person who knows the meaning of the virtues, integrity, honor and gratitude. Sending out a HUGE congratulations to Lisa who will learn not only about her body but also how to be more aware and giving which we all can use. Ava, really, you make the world a better place. Thanks!
