7 Weeks Out
Its blogging time! Been a minute since I posted something to you all. I hope you are all enjoying your spring and looking forward to the summer, I know I am. I am definitely a warm weather guy. Not only am I looking forward to the higher temperatures but most importantly im pumped for my UFC 162 fight on July 6th. The fight will take place in Las Vegas against Charles Oliveria in the featherweight division. I guess you can say i have been in "camp" for 3 weeks, to be honest i feel like im always in camp because im never out of the gym but thats the way i like it. Its great timing to be fighting in July because alot of my teammates will be preparing for upcoming fights as well. It is motivating to have your teammates in the daily grind with you side by side getting ready for a fight. Also my one teammate Edson Barboza will be fighting on the same card as me at UFC 162. Edson and I will be sharing the same corners for our fights too, which should make things fun on fight week for sure. The week leading up to fight night for me is always fun, at that point the hard work is done and its time to make weight and keep your techinques sharp. I usually have a pretty big group of some of my closest friends and teammates around which makes for some good times messing around with each other. For me having familiar people around me cracking jokes and having fun relaxes me and makes the mood light which i prefer until the day of the fight. On fight day its pretty much game time! So there is a little insight to the week leading into fight night, cant wait till we get there but in the mean time there is a lot of hard work ahead. Catch you all next time.
