A Reflection on CrossFIT Regionals
Well another regional has come and gone! This last weekend was the North Central Regional in Chicago, IL. We had our six person team (Me, Katelyn Busasker, Addi Kahrs, Bryce Teager, Pat Mohs, and Jon Pingel.) Also, our two Individuals, Stacie Tovar and Kyle Kasperbauer. The whole weekend was great, filled with excitement, a little disappointment and all out heart. On Friday our team had a rough start, we started out the first day in 16th place overall out of 30 teams. We had a bunch of ground to make up after that first day. Saturday felt like we had got our groove back. We all had a better attitude going into the next day, knowing we had to kill every workout to get to the top. By the end of the day on Saturday we moved to 8th, not exactly where we wanted to be, but better. Sunday was a great day, we had 2 killer workouts, that ended up putting us in 4th place overall. They take top 3 teams, so we missed the games by 1 place. It left a bit of a sour taste in our mouth, but it happens. There were 3 other teams that were consistently better than us the whole weekend. We learned a lot about being a team and working with each other. It will just make us train harder for next year! On the flip side, Both Kyle and Stacie made it to the games. They killed the whole weekend. Stacie ended up 2nd for Individual Women, and Kyle placed 1st in Individual Men. They are both going back to Carson, California to fight for the fittest man & women in the world!
Have a great week everyone! :)
